News: High Speed Doors From Enerco Improve The Environment

blog

Recently Enerco undertook an installation of one of our high speed doors for a pharmaceutical company in Luton. Faced with rising fuel bills the client wanted to reduce the heat loss through the doors whilst controlling the temperature and environment inside the building to ensure their personnel were comfortable. The slow moving sectional door were constantly left open to allow for the passage of their forklift loading vehicles with their product but this also meant heat was being let out and the employees were cold.

Enerco were consulted and awarded the contract to supply 2 of our Delta Speed 6030 high speed doors. The door was mounted internally immediately behind the existing insulated door. Mounted on its own steel frame and sealed to the existing structure to prevent heat loss the door is operated by induction loops. The door automatically opens on the approach of the forklift, times out and automatically closes providing the doorway is clear of obstruction.

Safety is paramount with all Enerco installations and in this instance the door is equipped with the unique soft edge fail safe leading edge. This unique facility offers the ability for the door to be crashed out by forklifts without the cost for replacement bent bottom rails. In the event the door is hit or encounters an object during its closing cycle, the leading edge simply flexes, the opto-tronic photocells detect the obstruction and stop the door. The door is simply reset and returned to operation in a matter of seconds. In addition photocells are constantly monitoring the doorway to sense any obstruction.

With the door open and closed in a matter of seconds the heat savings using Delta Speed will be substantial. Enerco provide a payback analysis for all our customers and usually clients will see a return on their investment with 6 – 24months.

The door is backed by a full 24 month warranty on all parts and labour subject to the door being serviced and a service contract being taken out at the time of installation.
